| Some good news for fans of WB's Felicity: The show may be picked up by ABC.
The WB network has yet to renew the show for next season, sparking fear among fans that it may be axed. To preempt the show's cancellation, Felicity fanatics have bombarded WB with e-mails, calls and even pleas taped on audiocassettes. This outpouring of support for the show hasn't gone unnoticed by ABC, which is considering picking up the series for its Friday night lineup, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ironically, ABC recently lost its Friday night series Sabrina the Teenage Witch to WB. Felicity, which stars Keri Russell, Scott Speedman and Scott Foley as New York City college students, premiered to great fanfare last season. Critics hailed the show as one of the season's best; Russell's face was plastered all over magazine covers; and Speedman and Foley quickly joined the list of TV's hottest hunks. However, enthusiasm - and ratings - for the show dampened this season. Some blame Felicity's move to a Sunday night time slot. (The show has since been shifted to Wednesdays.) Others claim it was Russell's new short hairdo that cropped the show's audience. |
