| LOS ANGELES - Felicity opened its doors to the press Friday, giving reporters a chance to visit the show's set,
get a sneak peak at this season's premiere and chat with the stars as well as creators and executive producers J.J. Abrams
and Matt Reeves. This year, Felicity is diverting its focus from just Felicity, causing the show to have more of an
ensemble feel. Also relationships will be the main theme of the year, with three major (four, including Javier and Samuel)
dealing with relationship issues. In addition, The WB will air the 13 episodes of season three straight - that's right, no
reruns! The bad news is once the shows have aired, Felicity will be off the air while 13 weeks of Jack & Jill
takes up its timeslot.
But what's going to happen with everyone? Zap2it.com was able to gather some nuggets of information about what will happen in upcoming episodes: Felicity (played by Keri Russell): Our curly-haired star (whose locks are definitely growing in) will definitely be staying together with Ben - but don't expect it to be smooth sailing. The two reunite after a summer apart and immediately decide to move in together. Of course, the experiment doesn't last long and Felicity ends up moving into a HUGE dorm apartment with the girls (Julie, Elena, Meghan and newcomer Molly) while Ben returns to Sean's loft. Look for an upcoming frat party to present some sticky relationship issues between Felicity and Ben. One other major change is that Felicity is no longer talking into her tape recorder, sending messages to her former teacher Sally. While Sally (voiced by Janeane Garafalo) is not gone, she will not be very present this year. Ben (Scott Speedman): The object of Felicity's affections will return to some of the issues first hinted at in the show's first year - his relationship with his dad. John Ritter (Three's Company) will guest on the show playing Ben's father. Julie (Amy Jo Johnson): While rumors continue to spread widely on the Internet that Amy Jo Johnson is leaving the show, it seams that the rumors are only partly true. Yes, Amy Jo Johnson will only figure prominently in about half of this season's episodes, BUT it's not like she is completely leaving the show. According to Matt Reeves, Julie will return presumably as a recurring character. As to the details of her departure, it is definitely connected with something that happened over the summer with her birth father. Although in the premiere, Julie is living in the dorm apartment with Elena and Meghan, a visit to the current set showed her bed was conspicuously absent. Noel (Scott Foley): After disappearing over the summer with Ali Landry's character, Richard (played by Robert Patrick Benedict) decides to track down his MIA buddy and haul him back to school. What the group finds is a transformed Noel, who has decided to take the year off and have fun ... and get married! Noel, will of course, return to his former self but not until some hilarious moments have transpired between him and his group of friends. Scott Foley also hinted that his character may be involved with guest star supermodel Tyra Banks, although no details are known. Also, although Landry's character will disappear for a while herself, she will definitely be returning to the show later in the season. Sean (Greg Grunberg): The biggest news about Sean isn't exactly new. Late last season, the show showed a budding romance developing between Meghan and the boy-inventor. During the summer, the two went to Italy together staying in Meghan's family's Italian villa - very much together. The relationship between these two opposites is sure to provide some of the funniest moments of the season, with Sean and Meghan constantly bickering and then immediately making up. Later in the season, Sean will experience some health issues that will add some drama to the relationship. Also look for Julie to become an issue in his current relationship. Meghan (Amanda Foreman): Aside from the news about her relationship with Greg, one major change will be the disappearance of Meghan's Black Box. Foreman said when she filmed the scene where Meghan moves in with her roomates, the box was no where to be found. As to the contents of the black box, she stayed mum, but she did say she hoped the show's writers would come back to address the issue. Expect to see a lot more of Meghan this year, as her storyline with Sean developes. Elena (Tangi Miller): The good news is that Elena is still with Tracy (played by Donald Adeosun Faison), the bad news (for her character that is) is that he still wants to preserve his virginity until marriage - making one very frustrated Elena. Look for someone to tempt Elena to stray this season, and how she will resolve the issue in her relationship. Also look for the return of moody-Elena from season one, as she shares a room with equally moody Meghan. Javier (Ian Gomez): While still only a recurring character, Javier return to New York straight from his honeymoon with Samuel. Entering NYU as a freshman, while continuing to manage at Dean & Deluca, look for Felicity's boss to be asking her for homework tips. Molly (Sarah-Jane Potts): Molly, a new character to the show, is a British exchange student who moves in with the girls a couple episodes into the season. Think "weird" with lots of Buddha statues and '60s-style beads. Molly will end up sharing a room with Felicity, definitely adding a different perspective on her life. |
