Russell Cast For Lead in Indie Curve

Keri Russell, who starred in the Slamdance audience award-winner Eight Days a Week, will next star in the indie pic Dead Man's Curve.

The film, which begins shooting this month in Maryland, is helmed by Dan Rosen, writer-director of the 1996 Sony release The Last Supper.

Russell plays Emma, one of a group of deceitful, conniving college students who resort to murder in order to further their budding careers.

Also starring in the film are Mathew Lillard (Scream), Michael Vartan (Myth of Fingerprints) and Randall Batinkoff (Walking and Talking). Curve is produced by Michael Amato, Ted Schipper and Jeremy Law.

Russell's previous credits include Honey, I Blew Up the Kid!, and the Roar pilot, as well as the lead role in the Lifetime telefilm When Innocence Is Lost.

Russell's deal was negotiated by the Gersh Agency's Paul Rosicker and Ken Kaplan. She's managed by Joannie Burstein.
