| LOS ANGELES - From college to childhood: Felicity co-creator Matt Reeves is teaming up with ABC to develop an
hourlong drama loosely based on his childhood in 1970s Los Angeles according to Variety.
As part of Reeves' overall deal with Disney's Touchstone Television, ABC has ordered a script and Reeves will direct the pilot if ABC picks it up. In addition to creating and executive producing Felicity with J.J. Abrams, Reeves recently directed the pilot episode of ABC's Gideon's Crossing, which airs Tuesday. He signed a multiyear overall development deal with Touchstone last year. The yet-untitled series would revolve around a family that moves from New York to Los Angeles in the early 1970s and tells the story via the point of view of a 11-year-old boy. "It's about the American dream and trying to be a family in an era when traditional family roles were being threatened," said Reeves. "It will hopefully have a lot of humor to it and a sense of nostalgia." |
